Description of Ride –
Llandudno Shop to LLandudno shop (circular route)
This ride starts at the shop and proceeds along the multi user Promenade in Llandudno . This is a wide open flat area but is used by lots of people for walking, riding, dog walking and playing so please take care, ride slowly and give others a wide berth.
After the paddling pool the signposted Sustran’s 5 route crosses the road and uses the dual use pavement towards the Little Orme. At the first junction turn right and ride past houses to the little rough cycle track which climbs up to join another road. Turn right and cycle along the road climbing again to where you meet the turning to Penrhynside and the cycle track. Down the cycle track to the little shops and cafe. Here turn right and cross the road and turn left into a little park area through the housing estate. Turn right onto the road (can be busy) past the school and turn first left towards a village called Glanwyddan. Past the Queens Head pub (nice coffee, beer and food).
Continue along this lane for 3 miles or so past the old church, vineyard and farms. Follow the lane until it eventually reaches the main road in Llandudno Junction, turn left and then first right in to the industrial estate past the BMW show room (you may wish to walk this section along the main road) . Continue through the industarial estate over the railway line past the council depot. Opposite the caravan park you will see a little track on the left. Take this track up the shallow steps to the busy round about. Dismount here and cross the round about slip roads twice (take great care here). Turn left down towards the RSPB Centre on the Estuary.
At the small car park turn left along the cycle track following the estuary , over the bridge crossing the railway line and under the subway (dismount signs here). Emerge onto the Conwy/Deganwy dual use cycle track. Follow this to Deganwy. Cross the level crossing in the village and follow the road towards to LLandudno (can be busy) until it turns into a cycle track. Follow the cycle track signs onto West Shore , alongside the sea front then return along the wide but busy Gloddeath Avenue back to our hire shop.
